Nově zrekonstruovaná barokní Fontána - Fontána Čtyři Řeky -

 se nachází na Piazza Navona. Navrhl ji a vytvořil Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Fontána symbolizuje mocná božstva čtyř kontinentů

A byla odhalena r.1651.

 

 

 

Základem fontány je vodní nádrž, uprostřed které drží vztyčený egyptský obelisk čtyři nahé postavy, znázornující čtyři kontinenty v podobe jejich nejvetsich řek: NIL, GANGU, RIO DELLA PLALATA  a DUNAJ. Dále jsou zde zvířata a rostliny umístěné k jednotlivým postavám a charakterizující faunu a floru typickou pro přírodu na jednotlivých kontinentech.
